Rachel Stevens

Biography

Rachel Stevens was one 7th of the almighty Simon Fuller machine that was S Club 7. S Club were Fuller's new project after being sacked by the Spice Girls for being a slave driver. With S Club Fuller once again managed to create a multi-talented all-singing, all-dancing, all-acting supergroup. After several years on top S Club split and Rachel, the pretty one, was snapped up immediately by Fuller for a solo career. 2003 saw Stevens release the catchy pop fest Sweet Dreams My LA-Ex and firmly plant herself as the next big thing. The single was released only a few months after the demise of the band and fully maximised Rachel's media coverage to launch her into the pop domain on her own.

The single was swiftly followed by an album Funky Dory which went on to sell a respectable 120,000 plus copies and earn the starlet a second chance at her pop dreams. The second single from said album the title track Funky Dory was a certified flop but thanks to a short break and a quick rethink at 19 management Rachel was back on top with the Richard X produced anthem Some Girls. Rachel has create dher niche in the pop world by releasing corking pop songs that lodge in your head and simply refuse to leave. In the absence of Kylie, who is currently fighting cancer, Stevens could well find herself at the top of her game.

2005 has already seen Rachel release two of the best tracks of the year. First up was the funky Negotiate With Love followed by the irresistable So Good which is set to be the sound of the summer. The new album is said to be due in the next few months and if the singles are anything to go by it will be a corker. Rachel has well and truly established herself as a force to be reckoned with and is the only member outside of the S Club fray to have had any solo success in the music field.

As well as her pop hits Stevens has a small role in the upcoming sequel to cult comedy Deuce Bigalow and is currently fronting a campign to raise awareness about testicular cancer. The pop starlet is rarely out of the mens magazines and is often voted in the top 10 sexiest women poll by FHM readers in their annual feature.
