Biography

Phixx came to be thanks to popular television show Popstars: The Rivals. The group originally comprised of the five guys that didn't make it into the winning group One True Voice. The guys decided that they would try their luck and landed a contract with Concept Records soon after the TV show finished. As it turns out this was a smart move as the winning group One True Voice failed miserably and split after only their second single.

Phixx launched themselves with the Top 10 hit Hold On Me in 2003 and hit the headlines thanks to their raunchy video and appearance on Top Of The Pops. The boys followed their success up with the Top 15 hit Love Revolution in 2004 and further cemented their growing fanbase. The first two singles caught the attention of Duran Duran member Roger Taylor who remixed their singles and ultimately led to the boys recording their third single, a cover of the Duran Duran classic Wild Boys. The single was another Top 20 hit for the boys but still hadn't catapulted them to the success they deserve.

Shortly after Wild Boys group member Peter Smith quit the group to pursue his own music leaving the group as a four-piece. Undetered by this the boys returned to the studio and in 2005 released the fourth single Strange Love which became another Top 20 hit for the boys. Even though the boys haven't quite taken off in the UK they have enjoyed lots of success in South Africa where their album Electrophonic Revolution has been huge.

Recently Phixx lost another member, Nikk Mager, and have now become a trio. The boys have taken some time out to decide their next move but rest assured their album will be released in the UK soon and there is a new single on the way. For the last few months Phixx fans have been able to watch Mikey Green on Channel 5's relaity show The Farm and Andrew Kinlochan has filmed a show for Sky One called The Only Gay In The Village

As a trio the boys are more focused than ever and hopefully 2005 will be their year.
