New girls on the block, The Saturdays release their debut album Chasing Lights on October 27th through Fascination Records.
The five piece girl group are leading the pop revival of 2008. They smashed their way into the top ten with their debut single If This Is Love earlier this summer. They're set to take over the charts once more with their new single Up when it is released on October 13th through Fascination Records. Once again The Saturdays deliver an addictive pop anthem with a chorus that explodes.
Chasing Lights includes a wide range of sounds and styles. From the electro-tinged Keep Her to the epic ballad Fall and the club jam Work, it's an album packed with songs you can dance to, fall in love to and help you through the dreary autumn.
"We knew we wanted there to be a mix of sounds on our record as soon as we started recording," says Vanessa. There are five of us in the group that are into different styles of music and we wanted that to be reflected on the album. There was no way we could do an album where every song sounded the same."
The Saturdays recently took part in the MTV Spanking New Sessions where they performed live alongside The White Lies and Master Shortie. They showcased songs from Chasing Lights showing they can hold their own.
Una Healy, Rochelle Wiseman, Vanessa White, Mollie King and Frankie Sandford are the five girls that make up The Saturdays. They have spent the past year working on their debut album in London and Norway with producers who have been behind the likes of Rihanna and The Pussycat Dolls. Now with the album complete, they're ready to bring some fun and glamour back to the charts.
"How would we describe The Saturdays sound? It's pop," says Frankie. "We're not trying to do anything else. We're a pop group and proud of it."
