Lucie Silvas

Lucie Silvas

Biography

24 year old Lucie is one of the UK's brightest up-and-coming singer/songwriters. She had a first stab at the charts back in 2000 with It's Too Late through EMI Records. Unfortunately the song did not receive much promotion and it bombed. Subsequently Lucie lost her recording deal and began to focus on being a songwriter. She has tracks for Liberty X, Rachel Stevens and Gareth Gates. In 2004 Lucie made a welcome return to music thanks to a new deal with Mercury Records and support from BBC Radio 2.

So far Lucie has released three songs from the platinum-selling album Breathe In. The first single What You're Made Of entered the uK charts at a respectable number 7 and was followed months later by her second single and album title track Breathe In which managed to chart at number 6. The third and current single The Game Is Won has fared less well entering the charts at 38. Although for most artists this would be considered bad, it isn't the case for Lucie. The single has helped the album race back up the charts and continue to sell by the bucketload.

Breathe In is Lucie's debut album. It is packed with potential hit after potential hit and is clearly aimed at a mainstream audience. Radio 2 have embraced it and have been Lucie's biggest supporters. The album shows all sides of Lucie's musical abilities. The piano ballads (Forget Me Not) are there as are the rockier numbers (Twisting The Chain) and the radio anthems (Breathe In). Lucie manages to cover all bases with the 13 tracks and offers something for everyone. It is no surprise that she has managed to sell so many records off the back of three strong singles.

Lucie has recently completed a short UK tour where she managed to thrill fans and put on a memorable 90minute show. The tour was a huge success and Music Focus were delighted to be in attendance at her recent London date. Lucie also appeared on Parkinson a few months back and performed a fantastic version of album track The Longer We're Apart. Surely Michael Parkinson's seal of approval is proof enough of just how special Lucie really is?

The next single will be the album opener Don't Look Back and then it's going to be more touring and promoting her album. After a fourth single we should expect Ms Silvas to return to the stuido to create another masterpiece which Music Focus believe will be released sometime next year.
